Alternatives to WFF
/written 4068 days ago/So, for some of you (we’re hoping very few), WFF just doesn’t do it. You’re looking for solutions that take a different approach to building web forms. This post is for you: We’ve compiled below a list of other interesting projects that currently take a different approach to web forms, along with a few comments:
WuFoo : a web form builder written in Flash, where you build a webform using a drag and drop interface.
JotForm : self proclaimed first web-based WYSIWYG form builder.
Form Assembly Dynamic Form Builder : A lot of very useful form templates. Unfortunately, they’ve tied the templates to an account system and you have to create an account with them to access the forms.
Note that unlike WFF, none of the projects listed are open-source, even though they are currently free. Another thing to note is that all the projects mentioned above allow you to build a form from scratch using a single interface, which has its pros and cons. The biggest cons, we believe is that you’re not able to style your form exactly the way you want but instead you’re guided towards adopting and customizing form templates.
As we encounter more projects, we’ll add them to this list.
This is a weblog about the Web Form Factory (WFF) project and webforms in general.
Web Form Factory is an open source web form generator which automatically creates and binds the backend code for any form it is provided with.
WFF is based on the POG project, another open source code generator
